Hey Broadway Fans! Time To Hear Some Great Live Song And Dance With The 66TH Annual Tony Awards

I am adding this blog topic while watching the fabulous cast from the highly acclaimed musical, The Book Of Mormons, perform the opening number on tonight’s live telecast of The Tony Awards.

Oh my goodness! How I have missed this calibre of performing from my television experience. No gimmicks, no lip-synching, no auto-tune! Just pure unadulterated singing and dancing at its very best.

Apparently, former So You Think You Can Dance finalist, the great Alex Wong, will be performing in a number from the musical Newsies at approximately 8:13 P.M. or so. He spilled the beans on Facebook – got to love social media.

So, my Broadway buddies, are you all settled in and watching the Tonys? If so, share your favorite moments in the comments section.

  1. I was thinking about you Rosanne and how this would please you. It pleases me too!

This was worth repeating! I believe there is a whole generation of youth that accept the calibre of entertaining that you’ve described. It was good to see Christian receive his Tony for Best Actor. It gives excellent credit to his role on SMASH! That show is my guilty pleasure!

Yes, I really did enjoy the show! I am taking my older Granddaughter to a production of Xanadu this week. It will be her first exposure to a “Broadway” type performance. Then, I will rent the video for us to enjoy together!

Do any of your Grandbabes display theacterical talent, MCL? It seems right now, the littlest of my crew might like performing! :o)

  2. Oh Kariann – my grandchildren are musical theatre buffs at the ages of 6.5 and 2.5. My 16-month-old grandson is getting there. Haha

My 2-year-old grandson is glued – and I do mean glued – to White Christmas. It is like some crazy addiction. My 6 year old granddaughter loves all the musicals, particularly Funny Girl, Bye Bye Birdie, Singing In The Rain and, of course, White Christmas.

I was a White Christmas junkie when I was their age, so this gives me immense pleasure. Haha

So happy your grandchildren are loving the theatre – how great to share your love of the theatre with them. They will thank you forever.

I was so happy to see Christian receive a Tony. Oh, I corrected your insertion of “splash” to “smash”. A little typo. Hope you don’t mind.

Loved the Tonys. Great live performances!
