Vocal MasterClass Discussion For American Idol Season 10 Top 2 Performance Show: The Country Road To The Finale

So, it all came together for the producers of American Idol Season 10.

Our Top 2 Finalists, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery, have country in their blood and will yodel their way to a big win – or two. Maybe, they will tie. Maybe they will be promoted as a duo. Who knows with this show, anymore?

All I know is this: there must be a ton of money to be made via the Country Road. Yet, to my way of thinking, it just seems so saturated with stars each vying to gain a prominent position on the charts.

However, the MCL Community wish Lauren and Scotty the very best during this evening’s trio of individual performances. Will you duet tonight? Maybe tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow.

Make sure you add your lively, but respectful, comments after the show. Any news, spoilers and more can be added before the show or emailed to me.

  5. Good afternoon everyone! Well, this final two totally makes sense to me. If you look back at my earliest posts this season, you can see I have been predicting a Scotty in the finals/win early on.

I know that there were more technically proficient singers this season. But, AI is not just about vocal prowess. People have to find something more to pick up the phone and vote. The article Louise posted makes perfect sense. I am NOT a traditional country fan, but I really like Scotty’s voice and stage presence. Both he and Lauren have a sweet wholesomeness about them that is very appealing. I want Scotty to win, but I will not be disappointed if Lauren does. For the first time in a while, I am truly fine with either winning. I wish both these kids the best of luck!!!!

Don’t know how reliable this is but I can’t see how Lauren can overtake Scotty.

  8. (Lost another long post.)

There is no doubt in my mind Scotty will win. I was disappointed in that he took no risks. He sounded nice enough, as did Lauren. However, compared to other seasons TOP 2 performances, this was a bit ordinary. There were no real “moments”. I know there are Scotty and Lauren fans here, so I hope I don’t offend anyone.

I think the best Final 2 showdown was David vs David. There were both terrific! I also liked Clay vs Ruben.

Two really nice kids, singing nice songs, and each hoping to win. I did mention that I wish Scotty would have sung, “Everybody’s Talkin’.” Neither took risks or changed things up. Oh well, I know a Country singer will win. LOL!

What do you think MCL? Who did you want to see in the Final 2?

  9. Completely agree Grammie – the finale was the sleepiest one EVER, despite Randy “spin it to win it” Jackson’s comments. The ONLY moment of the entire evening went to Lauren for her last song. But apparently it won’t matter as Scotty’s fans are rabid and will easily out vote Lauren’s fans. I had to laugh when reading an article this week which stated “Scotty could come out in the finale, drop the mic on the floor center stage, and just walk off and he would still win.” Sad, but might be true.

Again, I think they are both terrific kids and would be great people to know and “hang out with”. But as entertainers, they have a long way to go. Much as I hate to say it, a James/Haley finale would have been more entertaining by a country mile…
