Now, I must say that this is one gorgeous picture of David. The photography alone will get the cashes ringing and jingling at Christmas.
Additionally, I am hoping and praying that the sohisticated aura he emits in this photo bodes well for the type of music that he will record in this very exciting inaugural CD. According to our friends over at FansOf David.Com, David is scheduled to collaborate with Matthew Gerrard, who co-wrote “Breakaway” for Kelly Clarkson, and Robbie Nevil, who has worked with numerous young artists.
Memo to songwriters - David may be young, but he possesses a talent far beyond his years and should produce an album that mirrors this fact. He is a prodigious, sensitive singer, with a vocal ability that is absolutely stellar and, at times, defies logic.
So, let’s hope that the stars align perfectly during the recording process because, as we all know, David deserves to be surrounded by the very best in the recording business. And, to emphasize this fact, FansOf David.Com have stated that:
David, along with Jeff Archuleta, will be meeting with some of the biggest management companies in the entertainment business this week to identify just the right people to co-manage his career.

Holy crap! HE looks absolutley gorgeous/stellar in this photo!! I agree, MCL, this picture alone will sell the album!!! A great photo to go along with a great voice!
MCL, I couldn’t agree more. What this photo says to me is “look at me, I’m a serious ARTIST”. It’s about as far away from AI David can get with his first album. And I believe it gives those who may be aware of David from AI but not particularly drawn to him a reason to buy it. I’m hoping this opens up a whole new demographic of fans for him…he seems to be on an accelerated track to stardom.
MCL and Janey, I completely agree with both of you. I’m glad that Jive took this intelligent route with David’s album cover, it reads that David is an artist to be reckoned with. With this cover, there can be no doubt that David means business when it comes to his artistry.
After staying up way too late last night reading all of the different but strong opinions of this cover, I came to the same conclusion that you did, MCL. The cover screams “serious musician.”
I hope that this is, indeed, the cover Jive chose for David, and I hope that this selection indicates their view of him. No one deserves the chance more than him.
I am thrilled for his success thus far, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the treasure inside this appropriate wrapping.
P.S. Have you heard the most recent news? David sold 90,000 digital downloads this week, and in the last published Billboard chart, “Crush” was within 5000 downloads of reaching gold status.
MCL, I was trying to find a word to describe the vibe that, supposedly, album cover gave off when I first saw it and you hit it on the nail, “sophisticated” and might I add self assured like he’s saying “I’m David Archuleta, hear me roar”!
Wow! Kathylmh, 90,000 downloads? That’s nearly double what he sold last week. The Crush MV must be bringing in new fans.
John
Kathy – 90,000 downloads? So much happiness here for David! How exciting is this? And – it’s only the beginning. It is going to get better and better.
Archuleta Avenue – welcome and thanks for your comments. Great cover for a great artist.
Bizzee, Janey, Marc-Good morning. I am so glad eveyone is in agreement of this cover shot of David. Yes, we love the smile, but this is all about selling his music in a credible fashion so the “get serious” look on his face is extremely appropriate.
However, I wonder how many takes they had to go through to get him to stop smiling? How can he NOT smile? It’s his trademark. haha!
MCL, Please forgive me for being unable to let go of this spectacular event. Will you indulge me one more time? No need to review, this is for your listening pleasure only.
While the visual is so-so, I think this particular set of videos captures the sound of the day best. I met Donny, the young man who recorded this amazing in the parking lot that day. It’s his tears and sniffles you hear in the background of Imagine.
David sounds particularly angelic here:
Doesn’t this look impressive?
Janey – I have yet to find time to watch these links but will do so before I head off to sleep tonight. And that video of David’s CD? The BEST! Thank you for this.
