Hi, MCL! I see I’m first for a change
MJ has Jason’s Chicago “Over the Rainbow” on her blog today! (And a few other songs from some other singers, whose names I didn’t quite catch
!!)

the rest are just tidbits so far.
Frogcooke – thank You for these videos from Chicago

Yikes – my ears. The fans are hysterical at the beginning of this song and they finally relax, but barely! haha.
This is an excellent sound recording. And the screaming continues when he hits the refrain and every other touchdown in this song performance.
You know – I forgot to mention this before – David has to watch that he doesn’t raise his head too much when singing through his upper range. It can add a discernible amount of tension in the vocal delivery. It is always wise to think “down” when moving up into the higher part of a singer’s range.
However, David’s formidable technical training leads the way in this song performance. His voice sounds energized with passion and power and, yes, he does grab the mike again at the “yeah, yeah ‘sections – only momentarily, however, so there must be a technical reason for this.
Perhaps, as I have said before, this allows him more vocal freedom at this point in the song – an opportunity to ground the soulful delivery of his voice.
However, what a spendid, gorgeous and robust sound! Once again the ascending run on “woah” at the end of this song is spectacular and leads into the finale upper range singing of “I’m loving angels instead” – pure vowels all the way baby!
Outstanding work – he just keeps that bar so high, doesn’t he?

This video starts a few seconds into the song.
And the audience is singing with him or else he has found a way to sing in multiple voices during a live performance! haha. Nope – the fans are rocking this Chicago venue – big time. It’s as if they all collaborated to sing the refrain. I love fans so much -they are so full of enthusiasm and gratitude for David’s artistry.
And, David’s voice sounds very muscular in this song – strong presence and a forward momentum that allows the song to move along in a rhythmically fluid fashion.
Gorgeous head tone once again on in the refrain! His voice floats through the air, through his audience, who are now taking on the role of his back-up singers.
An entertaining and great performance!
Thanks for the reviews so far
I think he kinda tips his head up over the piano.. Sometimes I think he can barely see over it hahaha. His head just kinda pokes above it. lol

Good for Chicago – my kind of town – showing the love!
Regarding microphone grab — having nothing better to do on this fine sunday afternoon – I went through all of the performances of Angels.
He does grab the microphone on some occasions for the Yeah Yeah part – (San Diego and Las vegas) — but only for a brief second- it appears more so to reposition the microphone.
Link is for the Las Vegas show – around 3:10.

I am going to submit enquiry to Dean’s live chat on DAFB site if there is anything technically intended by the prolonged hold in St. Louis and Chicago – we can problem assume such if he now continues to do it.
MCL – if time please see my post 17 on the St. Louis thread – regarding my thoughts and experience hearing him live.
Hi this is my first time to post (I mainly post at rickey.org) but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed MCL’s comments on Archie’s performances this whole entire year. MCL, you move me to tears frequently, and I just adore you. Frogcooke, I LOVE you too, from the singing at fanblast’s chats to your posts here and at rickey.org. I was at the Chicago concert last night. David was absolutely AWESOME, I was one of those backup singers too, lol. David blew me away with his vocals, and his polished performances. He is SO MUCH better live not to mention how handsome he is in person. I cried during Angels, and my hands hurt so bad from the wild applauding, luckily I haven’t lost my voice from the squealing and screams. It’s so much fun being a fangirl at the age of 48, I am LOVING every single moment. The applause for SBM went on and on, and hearing David’s signature giggle/laugh was alone by itself worth the price of admission and the long waiting in line. LOVED IT!!!!! I’m so excited for his future, he is SO GOING TO BE A SUPERSTAR!
WYS is up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNvXnDpMzSo
awww Thanks Fe. hehe I make my rounds.. lol
Hi Fe – and thanks for stopping by. I visit Rickey.Org from time to time too.
Your comments are so appreciated and I love the appreciation and love that comes from all the Archie fans. Thanks for being so gracious.
David is going to be -is – a huge superstar. He is exquisitely and uniquely talented and I can only imagine what he will sound like in a few years. He is so darn good now, can you imagine what the future will bring? Unbelievable!
Thanks Archiefan and Frogcooke – I will listen and review the links tomorrow. It’s been busy here with company and I am exhausted, but I am curious to hear what you sent me.
And, yes, archiefan – I will answer your comment from the St. Louis thread tomorrow.
Good night all!
Hi, MCL! MJ caught Jason’s “Daydream” to go with the “Over the Rainbow” I posted above. (Under the same link is Cook’s “Hello” and the final group number, so more for the money!) Some reverb on MJs recordings…but nice and close!
Poor Syesha grabbed the wrong mic, and they didn’t get her the right one until she was 1/2 way through her first song, so the audience couldn’t hear her. What a way to start off your set! I bet she really never emotionally recovered from that.
