Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the live concert very much. and, I hope that my commentary has proved beneficial to the singers. I like to think that the readers, as well, enjoy the articles – it gives them a clearer picture of the subtle nuances that create memorable performances.

I have been posting her for a few years and have considerede you to be more than a fan, MCL. I know you have praises for the David’s, but I want you to meet Jason! I would love for you to ever so sweetly give him some good advice.

I totally agree about Kristy Lee – she has an outstanding voice and stage presence and I am sure her CD is going to sell extremely well.

She always appears so confident and relaxed on stage. It’s a shame that, just as I was growing to love her more and more during the competition, she was eliminated.

Thankfully, Idol is only the beginning for her – and for many of the other singers. So many strong careers have been launched this season.

So far this person has the best audio for sacro, just hoping she gets angels up some time. You can hear his talking before hand. This is the first time he’s not using his ear monitors for the song.

Angels

Call in the medics! The crowd is insane! And the person working the camera is convulsing with excitement. LOL. He adds some subtle changes to the melodic line, bending the phrase lines in his intelligent, creative style.

His “ya ya ya” part is spectacular, so vocally secure. But, truly, this is the noisiest crowd ever. Love the ascending run at the end – gets me every time. Oh dear, the camera person or someone near her is squealing to beat the band. She is definitely a soprano! haha

You go David. You need to record this cover – it would sell better than the original. Gorgeous, gorgeous head tone. I hope and pray that this element in your voice will remain a constant in your career. It is THE BOMB!

Plus, David added some nice ornamentation throughout this song, especially in the upper “too late” sections.

I love watching him talk to the crowd after this performance. Such a genuine, humble performer.

Stand By Me

He walks with ease and confidence along the perimeter of the stage, successfully connecting and exciting his dedicated throng of fans.

I love his ornamentation in this song as well. He is so confident in his interpretive skills – the runs just flow from his musical soul with skillful ease. It looks totally effortless, but, trust me, he is working up there. The key, though, is to make it “appear” effortless”; David’s technical proficiency, musical intelligence and natural soulful style allows him to transcend to these heights.

Strong, inspiring ending as always! Very memorable indeed. It takes a very very very very long time for the applause to die down. He is overwhelmed. He says “I don’t think I’ve ever heard the crowd this loud before.” hahah I love this kid!

When You Say You Love Me

As he introduces the song, the fans scream, “We Love You David” and he sweetly reciprocates the statement.

And – of course – this song is everything it was, should be and will continue to be because of David’s vocal talent. The expressive elements in his voice are stellar – the stuff of greatness. This cannot be taught – it just “is”. Outstanding vocals and superlative artistry. Bravo David.

I found a video of Jason’s whole set, uploaded by princessangielove, from shrieking fans to end. The audio is a bit fuzzy and the picture is very fuzzy–and the audio cuts out a bit in the middle of Over the Rainbow, but does come back. Nice to see it as a whole performance, though!

Over The Rainbow

Wow – major screaming. Good for Jason, but bad for me. It’s hard to hear him, although his the lower register sounds quite resonant. Actually, the camera angle is providing the listener with a better listen to his vocals and that head tone just kicked in beautifully.

I would really like to see him work on improving the phrasing elements in this song – the song is still a little choppy and I would like a more cohesive approach to this song. But he sings it with the relaxed vibe that has made him a truly special artist to watch throughout this Season 8.

Crazy

As I said before, this song is perfect for Jason’s style and he sings this song with an improved vocal energy and focus. Surprisingly, the crowd is extremely quiet when he performs, probably because his voice is projected with noticeable improvement.

Daydream

Once again, his lower vocals sound really good in this video – even though the audio is not the best. The camera angle makes a huge difference – it helps if the videographer is sitting central to the stage. This person was and,even though the audio quality was not the best, Jason’s true vocals projected very well I thought.

Just a thought -during the instrumental section, he should encourage the audience to sing the words at that point. It would allow him to establish a greater intimacy with the crowd and it would add variety to the song.
