I would much rather work with a talented singer who is capable of unique interpretive abilities. This is the kind of person I want to see on American Idol.

I find this very confusing.

On the one hand, I truly enjoy it when a real singer belts one out, but on the other hand, when I step back and look at this, I realize it’s a competition for people to become the kind of singer I don’t really like – the pop star.

I guess as long as I’m enjoying it on any level, I should just hang tight and not worry about why.
