Tom Lowe? The Hidden American Idol Contestant
Posted by masterclasslady on February 5, 2007
Apparently there is an American Idol Season 6 contestant that, for reasons unknown, probably did not make the Final 24.
Is it just me or is this guy really really good? He has an enviable performing background and is an absolutely brilliant singer.
Enjoy the clip below because you won’t see him on this season’s show, unless the producers and judges have a change of heart or whatever it is that keeps them alive and kicking. Your comments are always welcome!

If he hasn’t made the top 24 I will be extremely disappointed. Tom has a great voice, and I believe the “it” factor!

I don’t think he is in the Top 24. Lots of conspiracy theories, so I won’t venture to add my opinion to the mix. It is a disappointment. He is really talented - the whole package.

That guy used to be in a UK band called North & South, I have all of their singles. He also acted on stage in London’s West End.
I’m in contact with one of his old band members from North & South called James Hurst, who is still involved in music here in the UK.
I can see Tom not being in the top 24, due to the controversy that has been caused with ex-chart toppers having appeared on talent shows, however in a recent talent show, a teenager named Ray Quinn got through to the final. He had previously starred in a popular soap opera in the UK as a child.
So God only knows what’s going to happen with Tom…maybe a North & South reunion I hope!

Rob & Judy- thanks for stopping by. It appears that we will have to follow Tom’s career without the help of American Idol. After tonight’s episode, it was confirmed that he is not in the Top 24. What a shame. AI always has an agenda, so let’s see what it is this year.

He is great! I wonder if it is because he is British and it is “American” Idol?

I was thinking about this more and I wonder if he might have had visa problems. Didn’t he say he only had a student visa? I love AI–what a fun blog!

A student visa? I thought he was 24. What can you do. I think he may have been too polished for AI. He looks awafully professional in his performances on YouTube.Com Glad you are enjoying the blog. I love the format as well.

Rumor has it that Tom Lowe has a slightly contoversial past. He appeared partially nude in some British magazine and while a student took part in a Mr. Harvard contest in a bathing suit and shaking his booty. Heck, where are the photos of this hottie. Too bad AI let him go!

It’s a rumor for a reason. No documentation. Who cares? He wouldn’t be the first performer with a questionable past. Thanks for your comments.

He says in the video the only way he could get to America was to apply for college –if he only has a student visa it could prohibit him from something like American Idol. The Brit record exec. probably weren’t too keen about him going to the US to make it big–he could have gotten a Brit. record contract…I have a hard time believing it has anything to do with a “questionable” past.

Lots of interesting stuff has surfaced since my last post. I will add another post quite soon, so stay tuned. I think that he is a “character”, but that’s what makes the world go round. I thought this was a vocal talent contest?? That “idol” name has got to go.
